3.5.14. LIVEsearch

When LIVEsearch is activated, the model is scanned on the fly in the background during the modeling of an individual part and geometrically similar parts are filtered from the set search area and displayed in the LIVEsearch pop-up window[19]

The search results provide the designer with information on existing parts for possible reuse or on suitable purchased parts.

  • Automatic call-up of LIVEsearch

    1. Click on the button event handling [Event handling].

      → The dialog of the same name opens.

    2. Activate the desired options.

      • LIVEsearch when saving (part) [LIVEsearch on save (Part)]: New search when saving the part

      • LIVEsearch when saving (assembly) [LIVEsearch on save (Assembly)]: New search when saving the assembly

  • Manual call of the LIVEsearch

    Regardless of the set search mode, you can call up LIVEsearch manually at any time.

    To do this, click on results of the LIVEsearch . [Display LIVEsearch results]

  • LIVEsearch display position: LIVEsearch is displayed at the bottom of the CAD system. However, you can freely move the bar to the desired position. Double-click to return the bar to its original position.
