A company integrates catalogs from an external ENTERPRISE 3Dfindit server. If a project from that server is assigned an ERP number, it is installed locally. If the catalog on the server is newer, the " button appears next to the catalog in the PARTlinkmanager of the app server dashboard; there is also " option.
External catalogs can be viewed without being installed.
Filter: Crawling catalogs will not be displayed.
After the update, each project displays its status: " Mapping found," " Mapping needs verification, "" Product not found," "Verified " (later), or " Product expired." Parts without a new match are listed under " Unassigned part numbers."
The old project is retained as a versioned file:
name.vJJMMTThhmmss.prj
This also applies when projects have been split, merged, renamed, or removed .
Clicking on the status opens the Update Manager. It guides the user through the project line by line:
On the left are all the rows with a status icon and a progress indicator (“0 of 3 approved”).
Comparison view: The old and new rows are displayed side by side, characteristic by characteristic—for example, geometric similarity, ERP number, and material.
Selection view (“Find and select a line”): It displays a condensed side-by-side comparison and the table. Using “Browse projects, ” you can also select a line from another project or catalog.
For each row, you can approve the suggestion, assign it to another row, or use " Remove assignment " to remove the assignment. "Approve + Next " applies the decision and moves to the next open row. In the end, each row is either "verified " or "expired."
Apply Mapping is not completed until all rows have been processed; until then, the button shows how many are still pending. After that, the application runs as a task with a progress bar, a success or error message, and the option to repeat it.
Save "Local" saves the current state in the browser. The button is only active if there are unsaved changes .
When opened, the Update Manager offers a saved state for restoration. If you decline, it remains available via “Restore.” If the state originates from a different catalog version, it is discarded.
When closing with unsaved changes, you will be prompted to choose: Save and close, discard, or continue editing.
If an error occurs in Apply mapping, the option to Save locally is also offered.
Saved states are deleted after 10 days or after a successful assignment. If the browser cache is full, the " Saved projects" dialog appears: There, you can delete states from other projects individually or by clicking "Clear all," then click " Retry save."
