The matrix looks at the use of color [Color] and color texture [Color texture] (normal map [Normalmap] ) with different settings of part color and part material in relation to different settings of face color and face material.
Explanations of individual combinations
If the color is only defined under Color and texture → Color (part color ), this is used.
If the color is only defined via the render material [Render material] (part material ) (regardless of whether Mix color with color texture is activated or not), this is used.
If the color is defined under Color and texture → Color (part color ) and also activated under Render [Render material] material (part material ) AND Mix color with color texture AND a texture is actually stored, the texture [Texture] from Render material is used, but the color from Color and texture → Color.
The Mix color with color texture option is actually only required if many different colors are used on the basis of one and the same texture or if colors are to be controlled by variables.
By default, you work with the Mix color with color texture option deactivated.
Preferably use textures that have exactly the desired color.
AND set a corresponding color under Color for compatibility reasons.
Attention: The desired color must still be set because a) the texture is only displayed in software from CADENAS (PARTdataManager, PARTproject, ...) and cannot be exported to the CAD systems and b) the color is already displayed if the texture is still loading when a component is opened.
Face color wins against part color and part material (without mix).
If "mix" is activated in the part material, the texture is taken from the material and the material color or part color is overwritten with the face color.
face material | face color + face material:
As soon as a render material [Render material] has been determined for a face, this wins against the part color or the part material. If the Mix color with color texture option is not activated, a setting in the SYS_FaceAttributeColor face attribute is irrelevant.
face color + face material mix:
The texture is taken from the face attribute SYS_FaceAttributeRenderMaterial, the color from the face attribute SYS_FaceAttributeColor. ALL settings that affect the part (Color and Texture [Color and texture] → Texture or Render Properties [Render attributes] → Render Material [Render material] ) are overwritten.
Complex example with settings for the surfaces and for the part (always with the Mix color with color texture option activated)
Complex example: The "Mix color with color texture [Mix color with color texture] " option is set in the "Edit material for 3D preview [Edit material for 3D preview] " dialog box for both materials used.
