1.3.2.  Custom selection...

It is possible to use and save your own search templates for the full-text search [Full-text search] so that they are immediately available again at a later time.

In addition, you can also define a default selection [Default selection] that is automatically displayed when you start PARTdataManager is automatically displayed under Search in.

  • Create and save search templates

    1. Under Search [Search in], select the list item User-defined selection.... [Custom selection...]

      -> The Search path selection dialog box opens.

    2. Activate any of the displayed selection options for the full text search [Full-text search] in the left-hand dialog area Current selection by ticking the box.

      [Tip]Tip

      To make sure that no selections have already been activated somewhere, click Reset at the beginning.

    3. Enter a name under Template name and click Save to the right of it. Alternatively, you can also use the Return key.

      -> The template is now displayed under User-defined templates [User defined templates].

      When you move the mouse over a user defined template then the selection related to the template is displayed.

      You can optionally define a default selection [Default selection] that is automatically displayed in the list field under Search in when you start PARTdataManager is automatically displayed in the list field under Search in.

      To do this, select the desired template and activate the Standard selection [Default selection] checkbox.

    4. Close the dialog by pressing Ok. Alternatively, you can also use the Return key.

    5. Start the user-defined search using the Start search.

    You can now call up saved search templates at any time under their name(see below).

      ... closes the dialog box and accepts the current selection for the full text search [Full-text search]. Alternatively, you can also use the Return key.

      With Ok, the current selection is used for a one-off search without saving it.

    • Reset

      ...deletes the current selection.

    • Click Close to close the dialog without applying any changes.

  • Modify saved search template

    In the list box (open with arrow), click on User-defined selection [Custom selection...]... to open the Search path selection dialog box.

    Select a template on the right in the Custom templates [User defined templates] area and click Activate template.

    -> The corresponding selections are now displayed again in the left-hand main window Current selection. If necessary, modify them and save the selection again as a template.

    You can delete saved templates with Delete.

  • Use templates

    Already saved templates are displayed in the list field under the separator and can thus be directly selected.
