Material groups are often identified by certain letter abbreviations in the ERP number. A variable filter can be used to filter out eligible parts from the results list.
To do this, use the Filter for results (variable search [Variables search] ) setting option and the User-defined variables [Custom variables] setting option so that the corresponding label on which the filter is based is also displayed in the report.
Select the context menu command under Unfinished/finished part search [Search for unmachined/finished parts] -> Unfinished part report [Unmachined part report] -> Create report.... [Create report...]
-> The Stock analysis [Unmachined part analysis] dialog opens.
Perform the standard settings.
Detailed notes on the setting options can be found under Section 3.1.13.3.1, “ "Stock analysis " dialog: Setting options”.
To add the variable search [Variables search], click on the blue link Variable search [Variables search] in the Filter for results section.
At the ERP_PDM_NUMBER variable enter the token for the desired material group, for example.
In this way those parts are filtered from the initial result list where the ERP number starts with 'BCD'.
Details on the variable search [Variables search] can be found at Section 3.1.6.4.5, “ Variables search ”.
-> You will now see your entry under Filter for results. The filter is already activated
.
The search result only shows parts with the ERP number token 'BCD'.
