3.2.2.  Definition of the catalog company key (license key)

New catalogs must be created on the SVN server. The company key [Company key] (license key) is also defined in the CNS2009*CATALOGS*<CATALOGNAME> schema.

Company key

This is generally the responsibility of the respective project manager. The following rules must be observed:

  • Since V9 all license keys must start with CNS2009*CATALOGS*

    Older catalogs still may have "CNS2005" inserted in some places, which is not a problem.

  • The following catalog name is completely in capital letters. However, numbers must be selected here without separators ("-"/"_") and special characters.

If you call up the Licenses command in the active module in the Help menu, the PARTsolutions License information opens.

Here you can see which license is currently used. The entry starts with CNS2009*CATALOGS or CNS2009*CATALOGSADDITIONAL.

Catalog name

The catalog name [Catalog name] is also associated with the license key [License key]. This can be used for name extensions. Spaces and upper and lower case letters can also be used.

The catalog designation [Catalog name] is also displayed in the part information [Part information].

The catalog name [Catalog name] can be translated if necessary. See Section 5.8.2.1.14, “ Translation ”.

The catalog name [Catalog name] can also be used for attribute mapping [Attribute mapping]. See Section 2.2.8.5.1, “Transfer of the catalog name ” in PARTsolutions Administration - Manual
