Find unused files ...detects all files that are not assigned to a project. You can either assign such files to corresponding projects or delete them.

Note Please bear in mind that supposedly unused files may be used in other directories. Therefore, only delete files that you are absolutely sure are no longer needed!

Test geometry for [Test geometry on CAD compatibility] CAD compatibilitychecking the component geometry for geometric integrity.

Test standard [Test standard part identifier] designationthe standard designation, e.g. 'Hexagon nut DIN 1587 $ NENN (displayed in the PARTdataManager tab of the docking window of the 3D view ), which you have entered in the PARTdesigner (identification data [Identification data] ) may be incomplete or incorrect. For example, if column values queried in certain rows (which are part of the NB) are not present.

Test standard designation for uniqueness [Test standard part identifier for uniqueness] ...compares all standard designations that can result from the different characteristics (lines). If a standard designation (NB) occurs more than once, it is not unique. --> You must adapt the standard designation [Standard name] (NB) so that uniqueness is always guaranteed!

Test short [Test short name] namewhen exporting parts from PARTsolutions to the various CAD systems, the standard designation [Standard name] (NB) is normally used as the part name. However, as certain CAD systems set a character limit for the part name, the short designation [Short name] is created as an alternative.

PARTproject -> Edit project -> General tab -> Short description (max. 16 characters) [Short name (max. 16 characters)]

The short designation [Short name] is the "trimmed" (as short as possible) version of the standard designation (NB), limited to the maximum length for the CAD (max. 16 characters!).

If the number of characters in a short name [Short name] exceeds this limit, an entry is made in the test log.

Test short name for uniqueness [Test short name based on uniqueness] : In accordance with the standard designation [Standard name] (NB), the abbreviation [Short name] must also be unique.

Test the uniqueness of [Test name of project files for uniqueness] the project file namesthe name of each *.prj file must also be unique, otherwise in extreme cases an assembly will use the "wrong" one for two identical *.prj files (with different content).

Test standard numbers for uniqueness: Exclude standard numbers that occur more than once.

Test order number for uniqueness: The option Test order number for uniqueness also contains a test for reverse scripts. Test value ranges must also be activated for this. See above.

Find unused variables in the [Find unused variables in 3db files] 3db files...examines all *.3db files belonging to the selected directory to see whether they contain variables that are not used. The variables detected can be identified in the log and then removed if necessary.

Delete unused variables in the [Delete unused variables in 3db files] 3db filesif this option is set, the variables detected by Find unused variables in the [Find unused variables in 3db files] 3db files are removed immediately.

Important What counts for files, also counts for variables. Please remember that possibly unused variables may be linked to assemblies. Therefore only delete variables where you are absolutely sure that they are no longer needed.

Test bitmaps PARTproject sets a limit for the bitmaps that are used as previews.

All images above this limit are recorded in the log. The file size (and therefore the loading time) of the bitmap can be reduced accordingly using standard image editing programs.
