Semi finished parts can be classified as such.

for desired projects, in PARTproject, under Edit project -> General -> Classification -> Attributes (CNS), the feature CNS_RAWMATERIAL is set on 1. See Section 5.12.5, “ Add projects to classification (context menu) ” in eCATALOGsolutions Manual.

In exceptional cases, Consulting can step in via configuration file and so declare certain directories/projects in this way. Local changes in the project file are not target-aimed, because these will get lost at next catalog update. Changes should be performed centrally during modelling process.

	In PDM workflows, semi finished products are possibly handled in different way, e.g. not checked in to the PDM. Furthermore semi finished products are no standard parts, which effects write protection, meaning the changeability. In connection with semi finished products the declaration of the correct Identification type is important in modelling process. See Section 7.8.13, “ Identification type ” in eCATALOGsolutions Manual. Semi finished product - Dimensioning attribute pinned In PARTsolutions with ERP integration the behavior of fields with dimensioning attribute can be controlled administratively. See Section 4.17.2, “ Pinning Dimension attribute OnOff / plinkcommon.cfg -> Block [PARTdataManager] -> Key "LockDimRange" ”.
