The AppServer cache is an application-specific cache, not a general-purpose proxy cache. Typically, static content and selected web services are served from the cache to reduce load times. Personalized content and user-specific session information, on the other hand, are not cached to prevent the mixing of user data.

From a technical standpoint, the AppServer Cache itself is a client of the AppServer: It acts as a proxy between the AppServer and the CAD Connector client.
