If errors are found when executing the Check link index command, a question appears asking whether the link index should be recreated.

The link index is part of the display index. If the link index is faulty (as shown, for example, by the fact that no more search results are found), you could also regenerate the display index [Display index] for all catalogs. However, this takes considerably more time than just updating the link index, which only takes a few minutes even with 100 catalogs.
