Various options can be defined for value ranges in PARTdesigner in the Variable Manager under Status. If textual value ranges are involved, the Value range variable with name [Value range variable with naming] option should always be selected here if possible, where text is displayed on the surface but calculations or work are carried out with assigned numerical values in the background. The value range variable [Value range variable] option is also possible for textual values, but is extremely unfavorable from a technical point of view. Value range variable with naming [Value range variable with naming] is the most ERP-friendly option in the case of textual value range content.
