As soon as an option with a value range variable [Value range variable] has been selected in the variable manager [Variable Manager] under Status, the type identification [Identification type] must be set.

The type identification [Identification type] defines whether a value range is a geometric characteristic [Geometry attribute], functional characteristic [Function attribute], dimensional characteristic [Dimension attribute] or material characteristic [Object attribute].

In ERP systems these types are handled differently.
