If you want to set material classification data, activate the additional function setMaterialClassificationData.

Then provide specific data in the attribute mapping section [MATERIAL_SET_CLASSIFICATION_DATA].

Format:

<ClassificationType>.<ClassificationName>.<CharacteristicName>=CharacteristicValue

Example:

         001        .     TB_TITLEBLOCK     .       STRING     =material_classification

Result in SAP ECTR:

As soon as you select a material, the value is displayed in the Object Browser on the Classification tab page.

For preprocessing and validation of text values, use SapEctr_public_api.cfg > Block [TEXT_PREPROCESSING]. See Section 3.3.3.5.2.13, “Text Preprocessing ”.
