3.1.9.4.8.4.  Reduction " tab page

On the Reduction tab page, it is not only possible to hard-match to a specific number of triangles, but also to the desired result quality.

  • Standard: The number of triangles is reduced to the set [Reduces to the predefined number of triangles. If the current number of triangles undershoots the predefined count, no reduction will be made.] number. If the number has already fallen below this number, no reduction is made [Reduces to the predefined number of triangles. If the current number of triangles undershoots the predefined count, no reduction will be made.]

  • Easy: Easy reduction. Well suited for a simple reduction in the number of surfaces of parts. The topology is retained. Circles are approximated by many surfaces [Light reduction. Great for a simple reduction of the face count of Parts. The topology will not be changed. Circles will be approximated by many faces.]

  • Medium: Medium reduction. Well suited for reducing the number of surfaces of a part. The topology is retained. Circles are approximated by fewer [Medium reduction. Great reduction of the face count of any Part. The topology will not be changed. Circles will be approximated by less faces.] surfaces

  • Strong: Strong reduction. Well suited for reducing the number of surfaces of large or finely triangulated parts. Can destroy the topology of small parts and lead to angular circles [Rough reduction. Great reduction of the face count of big or highly triangulated parts. Can destroy the topology of small parts and can lead to edged circles.]
