The search wizard [Search assistant] and calculation wizard [Calculation assistant] can be found in the catalog of the respective manufacturer. You can recognize the assistant in the index tree by the corresponding icon 
.
Search assistants simplify the restriction on relevant search parameters. (Settings with the help of sliders, list fields, etc.) Searching can directly be started in the assistant.
Calculation assistants display calculation results on the fly when entering parameters and this way support part selection.
In the following the handling is exemplified:
Start the search assistant [Search assistant] under Part selection -> Catalogs by double-clicking on the corresponding line in the index tree.
-> The assistant window is docked. You can release it anytime and use it as separated, floating window.
Perform all settings via list fields, sliders, etc.
In the Project selection dialog box, under Search for, select either the Individual parts [parts] or Part families and individual parts [parts and part families] option.
Start the search in the search wizard [Search assistant] by clicking on the button.
-> Variable conditions are now calculated from the wizard settings using the stored algorithms. You will see the transferred search string in the full text search [Full-text search] input field.

The results are listed as usual on the search results tab page.
Optionally, you can also use the transferred search string as the basis for further modified searches in the Project selection dialog box:

restrict the directories to be searched under Search [Search in].
