1.3.4.12.1.  Topology search: The most important things at a glance
Functional description

The topology search [Topology search] is particularly suitable where individual features such as size [Size], distances [Distances], angles [Angle], patterns [Pattern], etc. may be more characteristic than the shape. It can be carried out without textual information and without a reference part. It is also suitable for "feeling your way" to the desired part. Result parts of a search can provide (new) search terms via the part information or serve as a reference part for a subsequent geometric search.

The "Topology search [Topology search] " dialog box is shown here as an example with the search conditions "Circle pattern [Circular Pattern] " and " Size "

Procedure
  1. Call:

Click on Topology search in the expanded menu of the advanced search methods.

-> The same-named dialog box opens.

  2. Add search condition

    Click on the respective button.

    [Note]Note

When moving the mouse over a button, in the tooltip, the respective information is given.

    Tooltip for "Size [Size] "

    Tooltip for "Size [Size] "

-> Selected search methods are displayed on the right with respective parameters.

Search condition "circle pattern [Circular Pattern] " added

Search condition "circle pattern [Circular Pattern] " added

Then click on the desired parameter(s) and confirm by clicking on the green checkmark.

You can add as many conditions as you like. And you can search just with one condition.

    • Buttons

      • : Line of respective search condition is removed again.

      • Entered value is removed again.

      • Closing of dialog with adoption of displayed value.

      • Closing of dialog without adoption of any changes.

    • Syntax for the input fields:

      = (can also be omitted)equal
      <>unequal
      <=less than or equal to
      >=greater than or equal to
      <smaller
      >larger

      x-y

or, as an alternative to specifying tolerances, w+-t

      Example:

      29000-30000 or 29500+-500

      from - to

  3. Click on Apply [Commit].

    Take over [Commit]

Accepts all changes and closes the dialog box.

Then start the topology search [Topology search] using Start search [Start search].

Accept and search [Commit and Search]

Closes the dialog box and starts the topology search [Topology search].

    Cancel [Cancel]

Closes the dialog box and does not accept any changes.

-> The selection is displayed in the dialog area of the search methods.

Selected search method: circular pattern with angle 45° (= 8 holes) and component size <=100 mm

  4. Click Start search.

-> The results are listed on their own tabbed page. When moving the mouse over a result, you can check the part in 3D.

  5. Open the desired part.

-> Under Topology information you will also find the cylinders belonging to the pattern.
