7.6.2.12.6.4. Maximum radius of chamfer/rounding
If a chamfer/rounding with radius "a
" is to be applied to a feature with shoulder height "h
", the following applies:
a <= h
The distance of
measured planes (shoulder height "h") is 4 mm here.
Initial
situation:
The distance between the measured levels (shoulder height "h") is 4 mm here.
Selection of the desired edge and definition of the chamfer/rounding
radius [Radius] "a
" (here 6 mm)
Result:
This
approach results in errors.
The same
applies for chamfers.
If two chamfers/roundings with radius "a
" and "b
" are to be applied to a feature with shoulder height "h
", the following applies:
a+b <= h
Otherwise an
errors occurs (see following figures).
The
distance of measured planes (shoulder height "h") is 4 mm
here.
Selection of the two edges and definition of the chamfer/rounding
radii "a
" and "b
" (here 3 mm)
This
approach results in errors again.
The same
applies for chamfers.
