In order for the mapping between Creo and Windchill to work, several steps have to be made.

Specify attributes for the transfer to CAD/PDM (these are not the default attributes, but the ones explicitly specified in the block [CadDocumentAttributes] )

With Windchill, in the standard 3Dfindit configuration, there is only the option to insert the attributes via the CAD document and not via a direct mapping mechanism.

3Dfindit -> CAD-Document (Designated) -> Creo -> Windchill

Windchill can only read attributes from the CAD document that are identified with "Designated".

Thus the value "Designated" is not set in the Windchill-PDMLink configuration file ifproepdmlink.cfg, but in the Creo configuration file ifproewildfire.cfg.

Do the following:

  1. Open the configuration file $CADENAS_SETUP/ifproewildfire.cfg.

  2. In block [CadDocumentAttributes], enter the desired attributes, which you want to export via CAD system to PDMLink.

  3. For each attribute to be transferred to Windchill, enter the additional line "<ATTRIBUTENAME>.custom=DESIGNATED".

    Precondition is that the attribute name in Windchill is exactly the same.
